Dubuque Council affirms support for tax increase of 3.9% for average homeowner

On Tuesday night, the Dubuque City Council set the maximum property tax levy for fiscal year 2026 at $10.06 per $1,000 of taxable value, reflecting a 1.38% increase from FY 2025. This increase translates to an additional $33 in the bill for the average Dubuque homeowner and enables the city to generate approximately $29.9 million in property tax revenue.
